About Jewett Street School

Jewett Street School is the Home of the Tigers! We are located at 130 South Jewett Street and have been open since 1955. Our school is home to grades Pre K thru 4th. There are 430 students and 65 staff members that make up the Jewett Community.

We have an amazing PTA group with several dedicated parents and staff as its members. The PTA does so many great things for the school. They host monthly Family Events during the school year, they run several fund raisers to help support the school with financial responsibilities, and they are always available to do whatever it takes to create or sponsor activities that will directly benefit the students here at Jewett.

The students at Jewett are taught Math using the Ready Math program and learn Literacy through the Amplify program. Jewett Street School has developed its own behavior model referred to as Tiger Pride. Students show their Tiger Pride by following the Pride Rules and showing respect to themselves, their teachers, and their peers.

There are a few extracurricular activities offered at Jewett. The school has a Boys and Girls Basketball program for 4th and 5th grade students (the 5th Grade students at Southside are allowed to tryout for the Jewett Team).

There is the 21st Century After School Program. The Manchester Boys and Girls Club uses the Jewett facilities to run an after school program from 2:50pm-6:00pm. All students that take part in that program are our students. The YMCA of Manchester uses the Jewett facilities to host a morning program.

Jewett Street School prides itself in creating a friendly atmosphere that promotes a sense of community and team among it's staff, students, and parents. We all work together to provide the best possible educational experience for all students at Jewett Street School.
