Today's Word of the Day is FLABBERGASTED, an adjective meaning surprised or shocked.

Flabbergasted comes from the word flabby, which means "to strike" in an English dialect, combined with the word aghast, meaning "filled with shock". Think about it, flabbergasted means to strike or hit someone with shock. It is so interesting to explore where words come from!

I am flabbergasted by how many Jewett students are using our Words of the Day :-)

Ask your Jewett kiddo to show you a flabbergasted face.
