Today's Word of the Day is PROUD, which means "very happy and pleased with who you are and what you have done".

Proud comes from the Old English word prud (meaning "excellent"), the Old French word prud (meaning "brave"), and the Latin word prode (meaning "advantageous, lucky"). It is really interesting when an American English word comes from three places--we can see how a piece of each of the words is used in how we understand our word PROUD

We are proud of all Jewett students for having a great first week!
