Today's Word of the Day is IMAGINE. Imagine is a verb meaning, "To form a picture of something in your mind."
Imagine comes from the Old French word Imaginer which means, "sculpt, carve, paint", which in turn comes from the Latin word imaginari, meaning, "To form a mental picture, picture to oneself".
Imagine if we all had stripes like a tiger! What I imagine in my mind of all people having stripes would look different from yours. If you and I read the same book, we would read the same description of characters and places and still imagine them a little differently.
The noun form of imagine is imagination, which is a truly magical thing!
