114 The Manchester School District Parent/Teacher or Booster Organization

  1. A Parent/Teacher or Booster organization must remain in good standing as a 501(c)(3) and file accordingly with the IRS, NH Charitable Trusts/NH Department of Justice, and if required, the Secretary of State all necessary paperwork. 501(c)(3) nonprofit status must be maintained accordingly in order to stay in good standing.

    1. Organizations must provide the district with their 501(c)(3) status, the organization's EIN  number, and an updated Certificate of Insurance with the required MSD limits and include Manchester School District as an additional insured on the policy.

  2. If the Parent/Teacher or Booster organization is not in good standing as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization they will have two (2) months to show that proper paperwork to rectify the issue has been filed accordingly. A meeting shall be held quarterly between the Parent/Teacher or Booster organization and district to review progress toward achieving good standing until a good-standing status is achieved.

  3. If a Parent/Teacher or Booster organization does not choose to maintain a 501(c)(3) non-profit in good standing, then they must affiliate with the National PTA Organization and follow the recommended laws and procedures of said organization. They must file with the district their EIN number, updated letter or certificate of membership and an updated Certificate of Insurance with the required MSD limits and include Manchester School District and the City of Manchester as an additional insured of the policy yearly.

  4. If the Parent/Teacher or Booster organization chooses not to maintain a 501(c)(3) non-profit status for their group or create a PTA organization, then the district shall retain the right to disband the organization.
