103 Age Requirements for Educationally Disabled Students

The Manchester Board of School Committed recognizes its obligation to provide an education for all students determined to be a child with an educational disability under the Individuals with Disability Education Act. Such obligation shall begin when a student reaches three years of age and shall continue until the student’s 21st birthday or until such time as he/she receives a high school diploma, whichever occurs first.

The Board has no financial obligation to any student over the age of 21. Therefore, all responsibility for educational services will terminated on the date of his/her 21st birthday. When a student reaches the age of 21 during the school year they may be allowed to complete the remainder of the school year upon recommendation by the student’s Individualized Education Program team and approval by the Superintendent.
