The goals of the MSD District Bed Bug Policy are to:

1.  Decrease absenteeism 

2.  Support families in their efforts to eliminate bed bugs; and,

3.  Maintain student privacy.

The Manchester School District accepts the procedures set forth from the City of Manchester Health Department regarding Bed Bugs and referenced in their Bed Bug Protocol.

Upon a bed bug being found within a school, a letter will be sent home to parents advising them.

A useful guide for teachers and staff can be found at the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Pesticide Programs, “Bed Bugs Go to School – A Guide for Teachers and Staff”; however, the procedure as set forth by the Manchester Health Department is the governing protocol.
